Spring/Summer '22 Trend Report

So today I wanted to talk about this spring and summer fashion trends! I’m gonna give you a mini trend report and I hope they get you excited to get dressed because after looking at these trends, I am ready to make a style moment in my spring outfits.

Before we dive into the trends, remember don’t feel pressured by the industry to go out and buy all these trends.

Take only the trends that really speak to you, excite you and fit your style and let that guide you on what you want to purchase.

First trend is mini skirts. The temperature is getting warmer so don’t be afraid to go a little above the knee or even higher with your hemlines in your dresses and skirts. Show off some leg this season.

Second trend is bra tops. So this trend is for my extra fearless fashionistas using lingerie as outerwear. The runways saw a lot of basic triangle bathing suit tops paired with tailored pieces. I like using this trend with cut out body suits or bathing suits and pairing them with jeans, skirts or pants. If you do a form fitting style like a halter, one shoulder or thicker band, your chest will feel secure and this style will keep you cool on hot days.

Third trend is statement suits. You can do wide leg trousers, try a crop top underneath or suits in eye catching color palettes. To piggy back off this trend, oversized blazers were seen a lot with suits. I was really against this trend at first but I’m really starting to come around. For me, oversized blazers work well on days where I want to feel comfy and a little dramatic. You can pair with a tighter jean, skirts or biker shorts or you can drape over a sundress.

Fourth trend is fringe and feathers. This detail is perfect for the warmer season. It’s a fun texture and brings some party and enthusiasm to your every day looks. I’m really excited for this trend because it feels refreshing and encourages you to go out in the world, be seen and this texture blow in the wind after being stuck in the house during the pandemic

And for accessories, supersize totes, bucket bags and thick chain bags are on trend this season. Platforms, slides and lace up sandals are in for the shoe category. And last but not least, the color trends are lilac, hot pink, buttery yellow, scarlet orange and cerulean blue.

A lot of trend forecasters are saying the underlying theme for the color trends is bright and bold. They’re seeing a lot consumers going for vibrant colors because it makes them feel good when wearing happier colors. Don’t be afraid to experiment with a little color.
