How to Accentuate Your Curves

So today I wanted to give you some styling tips on accentuating your curves. Studies have shown that over 67% of women wear a size 14 which means there’s lots and lots of women with curves and it’s not always easy knowing how to dress for your curves. So I wanted to give a few tips to help you feel more confident in accentuating your curves in your outfits. Stay tuned because I’m gonna be doing another video on why you don’t need to always dress for your curves, I’m really excited for that one because I think a lot of women need to hear it so stay tuned

Tip one is to ensure you have the proper undergarments. It’s so important to get your foundation right so your clothes can lay and wear their best this goes for all women. You don’t want an old bra that is uncomfortably squishing the girls or underwear that’s too tight or too stretched so it’s not hugging and smoothing you out. Take the time to get new foundational and shapewear pieces to help you look more polished

Tip two is to play with fun details like ruffles, colors, prints and stripes. So contrary to popular belief, women with curves look fabulous when they wear these different fashion details. Depending on the stripe placement, it can accentuate your waist, your bust line, draw the eye away from areas you feel self conscious about or your elongate your body. The volume of ruffles play well with the scale with your curves and they add softness and femininity to your look. Playing with color, especially a monochromatic look on your curves like a bright pant suit or an all neutral outfit is great for accentuating your curves and helping you look put together. All of these elements add a fun, joyful and striking visual to your outfit which will make everyone stop and take a look at your fabulousness on zoom, in the office or out in the world.

Tip three is draw attention to your waistline.

If you’re using a belt, wrap it around the smallest part of waist to trick the eye and make sure it’s in scale with your proportions. You don’t want an overly chunky belt that overwhelms your body or too thin of a belt that makes your curves look bigger than they are. So just keep that in mind when styling belts.

Or choose pieces that naturally cinch in at the waist or have an empire waistline where it sits below the bust. These waist defining details will help to create a clear, balanced hourglass shape for your curves.
