FB LIVE: How to Look Stylish & Professional on Zoom!
My Top Tips to Looking Your Best on Zoom!
During this LIVE I want to briefly discuss how to look stylish and professional on Zoom. Virtual meetings have been extremely popular because of the climate right now and many of my clients and business women have asked me “What do I wear for my virtual meetings? How can I look my best on camera working from home? Does getting dressed even matter?” And the answer is yes, absolutely yes times ten! Before we get into the essential tips I wanted to give you a quick introduction, I’m Emmaline. I’m certified personal stylist and I have my own company called Emmaline’s Personal Styling. I help busy women elevate their style by discovering a new way of dressing to look luxe for less.
Today I’m going to go over a few do’s and don’ts when getting dressed for your virtual meetings. I do have a style workshop where I go in depth on specific outfits to wear and more thorough do’s and don’ts tips but today we’re going to focus on the basic ones.
When it comes to getting dressed, we want to keep two things in mind: get dressed from head-to-toe, you’ll exude total professionalism; and balance, you want an outfit that’s equal parts comfortable and practical to sit in all day and at the same time presentable and professional.
The first do is a blazer. This is the perfect piece, if nothing else, throw this on before your virtual meeting and it’ll instantly make you look more polished.
Second tip is to wear a shade of color. You don’t want to be in head-to-toe neutrals, your image will appear flat and dull. Just a little color by way of your attire, accessories or makeup, it’ll make a huge difference.
Tip three is pants. This is such an overlooked but important tip. Even though no one can see you from the waist down, being fully dressed gets you in the right mindset for your meeting, otherwise, there’s a disconnect and you’re too relaxed. Try your hardest to put on jeans and not leggings but especially not pajama bottoms.
Tip four is jewelry. Jewelry is a great way to dress up your outfit and visually add a little interest on camera. It gives some shimmer, a pop of color or a pop of your personality. Just be sure not to go over board, let one piece be the show stopper.
Final tip is makeup and hair. Wearing a light coverage of makeup and grooming your hair will help you look more present and put together. With makeup, it doesn’t have to be major, just a little mascara, blush, tinted moisturizer and lip gloss. And with hair, take the extra five minutes to comb, brush or refresh it with product. Adding this last beauty routine to your outfit will complete your look and help you look more professional and lively on your virtual meeting.
Those are my top tips to looking stylish and professional on zoom!
