Body Shape Analysis 101

Hey fashionistas, this is your personal stylist Emmaline Chappell, if this is your first time watching one of my videos, welcome, I’m a certified personal stylist, I have my own business here in richmnond va and I help busy business women elevate their style by rediscovering the joy of dressing to look and feel fabulously on-brand. And I wanted to quickly talk about dressing for your body type.

I talked a little bit about my refine package a few weeks back, it’s perfect if you feel like you’re wanting to elevate your style without having to buy a brand new wardrobe. The services in this package are a color consultation, a body shape analysis and a closet edit. But I wanted to quickly elaborate on the body shape analysis portion of it.
I included it in this package because I feel like understanding what cuts, silhouettes and styles of clothing look best on your specific shape is truly a game changer for women.So many times, women feel like clothes don’t look good on them but that’s not the case.It all comes down to shapes and lines of the clothes, you just gotta know what is most flattering for you, I always tell my clients, it’s not you, it’s the garment, it has nothing to do with you not having the right body type Once you know the clever ways to style and dress for your figure to accentuate it in the most flattering way, shopping and getting dressed becomes so much easier and effortless.
So during a body shape analysis, the client comes over here to my in-home studio where I take her shoulders, bust, waist, hips and height measurements.And then I do a little math formulas to identify their specific body type and then we dive into looking at their body type tip sheets so that’s where I show them what style tops, necklines, jackets, blazers, skirts, pants, jeans and dresses look best on their shape but also what to avoid.
It’s simple process but it makes such a difference in how they view their body and getting dressed.
